The center of the top when opened is a lovely surface that seems to be a laminated reproduction of birdseye maple. Opens to 80" wide.Kindel makes each masterpiece especially for order in its Grand Rapids, Michigan facility. It is more of a work studio than a factory. The Fish­er fam­i­ly has main­tained fam­i­ly own­er­ship for over 50 years with a stal­wart ded­i­ca­tion to 100% Amer­i­can-made furniture. While oth­er com­pa­nies have sought low­er cost meth­ods and off­shore pro­duc­tion, Kindel has cham­pi­oned a stan­dard for domes­tic work. See
